Abstract

The circumferential flow field difference of an unbalanced intake double-sided centrifugal compressor under the coupling effects of the volute interior and asymmetric flow field of compressor inlet was studied in numerical method. The results show that there is a large circumferential difference in the inlet axial velocity of the rear impeller, and the non-uniform degree of the rear impeller is enhanced with the flow rate increases. Impeller outlet jet wake structures of different blade channels vary. The blade channel wake regions corresponding to the high static pressure zone in the volute increases. The circumferential static pressure distributions in diffuser are the same as that in the volute interior. At different radius positions, the static pressure distributions are basically the same, but the degree of uniformity reduces with the flow rate decreases.
