Abstract

A 90° countersunk screw head comprising 1 Crl 7Ni2 material experiences a slot fracture at the screw head during product assembly. In this study, failure analysis of screw fracture is conducted through macroscopic observation, microscopic observation, composition analysis, metallographic examination, hardness test, and other methods. The results indicate that the failure type of countersunk screws is brittle fracture, which is a form of overload fracture that may be related to poor material condition or local deformation.
