Abstract

In order to investigate the influence of nose-cabin on projectile penetration to concrete, the penetration experiments are carried out in 152 mm gas gun system. A high-speed video camera and a double-path plane mirror system are used to record the projectile's flight attitude before impact and the transverse deflection in the beginning of penetration. The effect of the nose-cabin on the transverse deflection is analysed. The deceleration time history in penetration is measured by an acceleration transducer. The experiment and analysis results show that the pre-penetration of nose-cabin to the target can decrease the impact angle and enhance the penetration capability.
