Abstract

A 2-D Deconvolution method for the improvement of ultrasonic defocused C-scan images is presented by using experimental Edge Spread Distribution (ESD) of transducer. In the paper, experiments corresponding different imaging depth were implemented to establish a relation of the ESD and blurry C-scan images. Based on the relationship of ESD and line response, the Point Spread Function (PSF), as the core function of deconvolution, can be obtained from line response by Abel transform. The results show that this deconvolution method is efficient and it is feasible to deblur the defocused C-scan images.
