Abstract

The paper introduces current situation of synthetic ammonia technology with an emphasis on energy saving. On the basis of an exergy analysis of Texaco synthetic ammonia technology simulated by ASPEN-plus, the chief energy consumption units are located and further potentials of energy saving pointed out. From the view point of energy cascade utilization, the result of exergy analysis is discussed and new way of energy saving brought forth. The results indicate that exergy analysis will become one of the more promising techniques in use in the future industrial energy saving.
