Abstract

An approach to basic trajectory design, which allows extension of the classical two-impulse transfer strategy by using the planetary swingby techniques was studied. This approach can effectively reduce the launch energy and the total velocity increments, thereby including a large number of potentially accessible targets. This work presents a significant reference for mission designer when selecting the scientifically significant and technically feasible target for a space mission.
