Abstract

This paper proposes the Extended State Observer (ESO) based control strategy for quarter-car active suspension systems with performance constraints. The proposed control scheme requires an ESO to estimate and compensate road disturbances, so that ride comfort of the vehicle is improved significantly. Besides achieving good control performance, the system constraints on both the suspension movement and dynamic tire load are guaranteed. Simulation results shows that the ESO-based controller is robust against different disturbances and variation of the load mass.
