Abstract

Typos were found in Eqs. (4) and (5) in our original publication,1 in which, Eq. (4) should be replaced by (Formula presented). The caption of Table III is revised to “TABLE III. The mathematical expectations and standard deviations of the fitting curves for the spray droplet diameter distributions.” The caption of Table IV is revised to “TABLE IV. The mathematical expectations and standard deviations of the fitting curves for the spray droplet velocity conforming to the lognormal distributions.” These typos do not change the message and conclusion of the article. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused. We thank Professor Andreas B€uck for pointing out these typos and misleading simplifications. (Table presented). NOTE: A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDANCE FOR REPRODUCING THE PROBABILITY DENSITY DISTRIBUTION FUNCTION To better reflect the statistical property of the fitting, the data provided in Table III refer to the mathematical expectation and standard deviation of the fittingoutcome by following several recent studies. According to the definition of expectation and standard deviation in statistical theory, the parameters ls and rs in lognormal distribution can be obtained from these values. In terms of the lognormal function, its probability density function is (Formula presented). (Figure presented).
