Abstract

In the BMI literature, some scholars have asserted external environmental changes as antecedent to BMI, while others have argued that business models are important factors affecting business performance. The relationship between energy consumption and economic growth has been a long-term concern in the energy economy. Taking Henan Province as an example, this paper selects the data of coal, oil, natural gas and hydropower in 1980-2015, using cointegration theory and Granger causality test. The paper finds that there is a long-term stable equilibrium relationship between coal consumption, oil consumption, electricity consumption and natural gas consumption and economic growth in Henan Province. Among them, coal has the highest contribution rate to economic growth, and natural gas has the lowest contribution rate to economic growth. There is a one-way causal relationship between natural gas and oil consumption and economic growth in Henan Province, and there is no causal relationship between coal consumption and economic growth.
