Abstract

In order to efficiently exploit the spectrum utility, we propose a multi-cell frequency reusing approach for heterogeneous networks based on dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS) technology. Actually in the traditional DSS scheme there are still several types of interference that cannot be eliminated completely, especially the severe inter-cell interference that the cell-edge users suffer from. To improve the cell edge throughput, an enhanced DSS scheme based on fractional frequency reuse (FFR) is proposed. The numerical results demonstrate that the proposed scheme can mitigate inter-cell interference and improve the cell-edge throughput efficiently.
