Abstract

The energy properties of insensitive and cross-linked BuNENA propellant were calculated by propellant energy calculation program. The calculation results show that the standard theoretical specific impulse is affected slightly by the ratio of GAP/NC and the ratio of plasticizer/binder, while the content of solids and the ratio of RDX/AP/Al have great effect. Replaced AP with CL-20, BuNENA propellant has a high value of specific impulse over 2700 N·s/kg in very wide scope when the content of solids is 70% and the content of CL-20 is 39%~52% (corresponding content of Al is 7%~10%). The results show that BuNENA propellant is a prominent propellant with high energy, insensitiveness and low characteristic signal.
