Abstract

Three-dimensional finite element simulations on the base of cell models and micromechanics have been made in this investigation to predict effective elastic moduli and elastoplastic stress-strain behavior of particulate-reinforced metal-matrix composites. Numerical results are given for the influence of particle volume fraction, shape and orientation to the overall behavior of the composite.
