Efficient Computation of EM Radiation of Radome-Enclosed Antennas with a Thermal Protective Enclosure

Abstract

In this paper, a hybrid method based on the volume-surface integral equation (VSIE) and modified surface integration (MSI) method is proposed to assess the electromagnetic performance of large/medium-sized radome-enclosed antennas with a thermal protective enclosure (REATPE). A numerical model for efficient computation of the electromagnetic radiation of the REATPE is established. Numerical results demonstrate that, compared with the full-wave methods, the proposed method can effectively predict the radiation pattern of the REATPE system with good accuracy.
