Abstract
A kind of hydro-pneumatic suspension with controllable damping is designed. A complex nonlinear mathematic damping model of hydro-pneumatic suspensions is set up on the basis of comprehensive analysis of its working principle and structure. The effect of parallel orifice of the valve on the hydro-pneumatic suspension damping characteristics is simulated using Matlab/Simulink. Comparing the result of simulation and bench test showed that the mathematic model is authentic, and the test sound. According to this method, the effects of other parameters of the valve, such as the size of the series orifices, the maximum opening capacity and the spring pre-compression of the one-way valve, on the hydro-pneumatic suspension damping characteristics were simulated. The simulation results showed that perfect damping characteristics of hydro-pneumatic suspension can be obtained through rational selection of the parameters.
