Abstract

The spherical nickel hydroxide coated with CoOOH was studied. Different pH values was controlled during the process of Co2+ → Co (OH)2 in the sodium hydroxide with the definite temperature and condition, and the effect of Ni(OH)2 coated with CoOOH were discussed. The results indicated that when the condition pH = 12 was controlled, CoOOH could be tightly coated and distributed uniformly on the surface of nickel hydroxide; the voltage of discharge was increased, and the charge-discharge performance was improved.
