Abstract
The experimental investigation of the effect of loading rate on the tensile properties of PC/ABS and the analysis of the test results has been given. The test has been conducted with various cross head moving rate under displacement control. The results have been given out. Yield stresses slowly increase with the loading rate; fracture stresses have no relationship with the loading rate; the contraction in thickness direction is larger then that in width direction; the residual plastic strains increase with the loading rate. The micro mechanism analysis has been given briefly. It is shown that the sliding and breaking of the molecular chains might be the dominant roles during the plastic deformation of the polymer PC/ABS.
