Abstract

In order to study the relations among input energy, droplet diameter and properties of coatings when Mo wire explosion occurred with different input charging energies, the metal droplets were collected. The distribution of droplet diameters was measured and analyzed. The relation between the deposited energy and the vaporization rate of the molybdenum wire was studied. The properties of molybdenum coatings sprayed with different droplet diameters were tested. And the influences of charging energy and droplet diameters on the properties of coatings, such as microstructure, thickness, hardness, roughness and binding strength, were analyzed.
