Abstract

Nickel hydroxide electrode modified by chemical oxidation coating CoOOH was prepared. The performances of nickel hydroxide electrode with or without coating were measured by the technologies of constant current charge and discharge and cyclic voltammograms (CV). The morphology of the Ni(OH)2 with coating CoOOH was showed by SEM. The results show that the coating improves the electron conductivity, decreases the oxidation potential, and increases the over-potential of oxygen evolution. The active material utilization of nickel hydroxide electrode is highly improved.
