Abstract

This paper proposes an edge-intelligence-driven predictive protection mechanism for industrial PONs. It triggers protection action 52 ms before the failure occurs, which eliminates service interruption of 50 ms during the link switching, and reduces packet loss from 11.4% to 0.89%.
