Abstract

A coil eddy current array sensor based on rectangular graphics is presented. The working principle was analysed in depth according to mathematical and electromagnetic theories. A set of eddy current array inspection devices for detecting pipeline defects was thus developed. The overall design scheme of the circumferential eddy current array sensor uses differential excitation to detect defects on the internal surface of the pipeline. The output signals are collected through a multi-channel signal acquisition device and processed using mathematical software. Experimental results confirmed the high reliability of the proposed method for detecting pipeline defects.
