Abstract

The dynamic response of a simply supported circular plate made of a rigid-perfectly plastic material is investigated when taking account of transverse shear, bending moments and rotatory inertia. Basic equations are established for an arbitrary loading case. Theoretical solutions are given for a rectangular shaped pressure pulse loading, and numerical results are presented which show the effects of transverse shear and rotatory inertia on the bending moment, transverse shear force and transverse displacement of circular plates.
