Abstract
Conventional control strategies for single-phase photovoltaic-battery microgrids often suffer from sluggish dynamic response because they rely on synchronous coordinate-frame transformations and they struggle to maintain high power quality under transient grid conditions. To address these challenges, this article proposes an energy-based control (EC) strategy that operates directly in the natural coordinate frame, thereby eliminating coordinate transformation delays and significantly accelerating dynamic response. Furthermore, to mitigate phase shift and harmonic distortion in the inverter output current, the EC framework integrates a phase compensation scheme and a data-driven passive harmonic compensation method. Comprehensive simulations and experimental results across multiple operational scenarios demonstrate that the proposed approach simultaneously enhances both transient performance and steady-state power quality, validating its effectiveness and practical viability for single-phase microgrid applications.
