Abstract

A pill striking a linear reinforced rod and a linear reinforced rod striking a rigid target are studied. The two critical condition equations are achieved. The propagation, reflection and reciprocity of stress wave are considered in the analysis. The stress in the rod and possibility of buckling are also analyzed. At last, specific material is used to carry out numerical calculations from which a relationship between the impact stress and the position of buckling is obtained. A relationship between the flight velocity and the slenderness ratio of the rod is also arrived at. These conclusions are important to the dynamic buckling experiment of the finite linear reinforced elastic-plastic rod.
