Abstract

Extended Replica Folding Acquisition Search Technology (XFAST) and the Average Method are two typical methods for GPS P-code acquisition in the frequency domain. Performance of P-code direct acquisition using the two methods was analyzed and compared. The study brings up a hardware realization method of direct P-code acquisition with least hardware resources based on the average method, and designs a hardware system for verification. It provides a P-code acquisition performance test in real system. The system can satisfy the detection rate in low SNR, and in the mean time decreased hardware resources versus XFAST and direct FFT. It also shortened the acquisition time, and met the design requirements.
