Abstract

MVDR(Minimum Variance Distortionless Response) beamformer can automatically form nulls in the direction of jammers. The more powerful the jammer is, the deeper the null is. Utilizing this property, a new way for difference pattern synthesis is developed by modifying the framework of MVDR and injectingfictitious jammersof specific power. Compared with other methods, the proposed applies to arbitrary array structure and can form arbitrarysidelobe envelope. Besides, it's quite easy to perform the synthesis procedure.
