Abstract

As the emerging functional materials, porous metal materials show a series of features, such as outstanding permeability, regular structure, unique mechanical properties, and excellent adsorptivity. Spark plasma sintering (SPS) technology has the distinctive characteristics such as high heating speed, short sintering time, and high efficiency. In this paper, the application of spark plasma sintering technology in materials preparation was introduced. The effect of spark plasma sintering parameters on porous metal materials was discussed. In the end, the prospect and development of spark plasma sintering regarding to preparing porous metal materials were presented.
