Abstract

Six nature minerals and six self-made sorbents were used to remove alkali metal vapor in a self-made alkali metal vapor removing apparatus. One kinds of active constitutes of self-made sorbents is coal ash, which XRD results indicate that coal ash has the property to remove alkali metal vapor. Results proved that the sorbent reactivity depends on not only its content of active constitutes but also its structure. It was found that kaolinite, activated alumina and self-made sorbent GM6 are very efficient for alkali metal vapor removal.
