Abstract
Taking the development of a car platform as example, the layout mechanism of front double joint double wishbone suspension system is presented. By applying multi-body system dynamics, the performance of suspension is optimized and then benchmarked with three benchmark cars. The results indicate that this type of suspension has more design freedoms and better potential of performance optimization. Through reasonable design optimization, good handling and stability as well as ride comfort of vehicle can be achieved.
