Abstract

We firstly give the definition of the Sliced Instantaneous Higher-Order Moments (S-IHOM) and address the use of the S-IHOM to represent non-stationary signals, substituted for the use of the Instantaneous Correlation Function (ICF). Then we investigate the application of the S-IHOM in the detection and estimation of FH signals. The approach is based on the phase information of the S-IHOM. Results show the S-IHOM of FH signals is less sensitive to noise than the IFC of FH signals. The proposed scheme is robust to additive white noise degradations for SNR levels of 0 dB and above.
