Abstract

We develop a designing framework for dealing with fuzzy computation using fuzzy J-K flip-flops. In situations where some hardware implementation of integrated circuits utilizing ideas of fuzzy sets have already been introduced, relevant design procedures become strongly required. It should be stressed that they do not arise as a straightforward generalization of methods suitable for two-valued digital systems, but have to be formulated in a different way. However, they, reduce to well-known methods when Boolean expressions are put into account. The general structure of the J-K flip-flop described by set and reset equations is provided. Next, a resulting excitation table is summarized. Different methods of designing the associated combinational part of the sequential system are studied.
