Abstract

A data acquisition system for battery management system (BMS) used in electric vehicles (EVs) based on controller area network (CAN) bus has been proposed and developed. The battery's voltage and temperature were real-time monitored through dedicated integrated circuit LTC6802-1 and DS18B20 respectively, and then the data was transmitted among electric control units (ECUs) through CAN-bus based on the proposed system structure. Furthermore, the developed acquisition system was verified and evaluated by bench test. The results indicated that the proposed system has good real-time performance, reliability, anti-jamming capability and flexibility and can be extended easily with good accurate, which is helpful for the BMS used in EVs and extended the lifetime of the power battery.
