Abstract

A multi-point ring initiator applying for shaped charge was developed. Its action process was simulated, and its detonating point number and key geometric dimensions were optimized by using dynamic analysis software LS-DYNA/AUTODYN. The shape of detonation wavefront in B explosive produced by multi-point ring initiator was measured by using high speed photography. The result shows that an ideal horn detonation wave is formed in cylindrical charge of B explosive.
