Design of integrated drive system for electric bus

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Three-phase asynchronous motor and three speed automatic transmission (AMT) without clutch are designed into an integrated drive system (IDS). An integrated control system of the IDS was developed based on high-speed CAN bus and dual ECU. A double parameter shift schedule was designed to ensure the dynamic and economic performance of vehicle. Test results show that the acceleration performance of the bus with the integrated drive system has been increased and energy consumption reduces about 9% compared with single speed driving.
