Abstract

A self-decoupled shared-aperture (SDSA) array for dual-band 6G beamforming is proposed. The design starts with a 2×2 high-band patch (HBP) subarray. A slotted Jerusalem Cross-Shaped Stripe (JS) is integrated to achieve in-band decoupling within high-band (HB). Furthermore, the low-band (LB) mode is realized by appropriately exciting the JS to induce a radiating current distribution across the four HBPs, forming a compact SDSA unit that inherently achieves cross-band decoupling. When expanded into a linear array, the JS further provides in-band decoupling at LB. T-shaped stripes (TS) are inserted to further suppress HB coupling. A SDSA array was fabricated and measured with excellent performances: 10-dB bandwidths of 14.2% (LB) and 11% (HB), port isolation >20 dB, and beam-scanning ranges of ±20° (LB) and ±50° (HB).
