Design method of explosion container for slow speed cook-off test of small quantity explosive

Abstract

A kind of special explosion container which can be used to evaluate the low vulnerability of small quantity (<100 g TNT) explosives in the indoor environment was designed. The designed wall thickness of cylindrical explosion container with 1500 mm in diameter and 2000 mm in height was analyzed by calculating the equivalent static load of the wall of container under the impact load of explosion and the testing of strength and stress. The design safety of explosion container was verified by numerically simulating the antiexplosion impact load of explosion container using ANSYS/LS-DYNA. This design method can afford a new idea for the design of experimental equipment of low vulnerability evaluation of explosive.
