Abstract

The design of micro-structure in the integrated light guide plate of backlight is simulated by the LIGHTOOLS soft to indicate the effects of micro-structure on the characteristics of backlight. The results show that the brightness and uniformity become worse when the height of circle micro-structure less than 0.15 mm. The perfect distribution of brightness is obtained with taper micro-structure on the upper surface when the height is 0.15 mm, the radius is 1.8 mm and the taper is 0.6. Among micro-structures, the pyramid is preferential to be chosen, and the brightness and visual angle are improved when the apex angle is between 80°-110°.
