Abstract
With the development of broadband service and the improvement of broadband technology, it seems that EPON becomes more and more important in the access network. And the design of burst-mode optical receiver is a key technology in EPON. A AC-coupled burst mode receiver is designed, and its performance is verified. It shows that such a receiver certifies EPON standard regulated by IEEE802.3ah. Moreover, it can recover the data at the first bit.
