Abstract

An approach for locating debonding defect was presented using Lamb wave and time-frequency analysis in laminated composite structure. Based on the wavelet transform, this paper, to extract the characteristic information, compared signal defect with reference signal, namely health signal, and took their difference which was caused by defect. Accurate arrival time of the differential signals energy and time delays were obtained, so the defect in structure could be localized exactly using geometry. The applicability and effectiveness of the wavelet transform in the actual testing was demonstrated by experiments.
