Abstract

In order to investigate the damage influence law of ship bottom fluid cabin subjected to the underwater contact explosion, an equivalent model of the cabin was created by using ALE in LS-DYNA. The crevasse radiuses, pressure of different interface and displacement of inner panels in five typical conditions of the cabin subjected to the underwater contact explosion were analyzed and compared to learn damage influence law. The simulation results show that, with the increase of the liquid level in the cabin, the crevasse radius of the outer panel decreases and the crevasse radius of the inner panel increases. The inner panels are easily damaged either when the fluid cabin is empty or full. The damage mode of the two damaged inner panels is different. It is more safe to keep the liquid level between 25% to 70% in volume.
