Abstract

Terahertz (THz) wave features many remarkable merits for wireless communication systems, including high data transmission speed, large communication capacity, sufficient bandwidth, and high anti-interference performance. Although its propagation is severely affected by the atmospheric attenuation, THz waves still show great application prospects in short-range wireless communication systems. In this conference, according to the propagation characteristics of the D band, a 0.14 THz wireless communication link is proposed. This system mainly adopts a transmitter and a receiver based on second subharmonic mixers (SHMs). After link budget calculation and numerical simulation, a physical TX/RX link is built for verification. Measured results indicate that the a 2-GHz bandwidth (144.16-146.16GHz) in D-band can be obtained for short-distance applications.
