Abstract

A new method based on vision matching for cross-media color reproduction is introduced. Some color appearance factors are matched to other ones in the vision matching process. It is a method of CRT characterization based on color appearance. 22 Munsell color chips are reproduced and their average vision score is 5.17 (in 6-point grade). In all the chips, the reproduction results for red hue are better than for blue hue. The sRGB is a standard color space for color communication and its results are also given for comparison. The experiment results show that the method based on vision matching has included some color appearance factors. It can satisfy general practical needs. The method is expected to have plenty of application areas.
