Abstract

To improve the shift quality of electric vehicles equipped with combined clutch planetary transmission with two gears, a dynamic model of shifting process is established. The shift jerk and friction work are chosen as a comprehensive control target. Linear quadratic optimal control is used to optimize the upshift process of combined clutch planetary transmission, in which the motor is involved. The simulation results of upshift show that shift quality can be effectively improved by the coordinated control of the motor torque and the clutch transmission torque during upshift process, compared with combined clutch control only.
