Abstract
The paper presents results of simulation and theoretical analysis of hybrid bus operation efficiency for two depicted control strategies. Simulation research is focused on HEV city bus drive. In simulation, high power (HP) NiMH battery is used, operating in constant thermal conditions. HP NiMH cells are specially designed for hybrid drive system by CLAiO. Finally the paper presents the results of fuel consumption for two chosen control strategies, taking into consideration the balance of battery SOC (keeping the same SOC level on the beginning and at the end of Warsaw City Bus driving cycle).
