Abstract

This chapter summarizes the research work presented in this book and provides recommendations for future development of frosting and icing studies. The present research work is devoted to the research, analysis, and methods of frosting and icing in different industrial fields, with an emphasis on the whole frosting/icing process. This study covers six space scales, from trapped air bubbles during freezing, freezing of sessile and impact water droplets, frosting/icing on cold plates, frosting on heat exchangers of air source heat pump units, icing on the wing surface of airplanes, and icing in Polar Regions. Based on the results presented in this book, five achievements and five potential areas for future research work related to frosting and icing are summarized.
