Abstract

In a multiphase permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), an adjacent double-phase open-circuit fault can cause neutral voltage oscillation (NVO), which affects the tracking performance of desired phase voltages and fault-tolerant currents. At present, the existing compensation methods for NVO are all based on the assumption that the parameters of PMSMs are symmetrical. However, in actual PMSMs, the parameters are inevitably asymmetrical. Therefore, this paper analyzes the influence of asymmetric parameters on NVO and proposes a compensation method for NVO in a five-phase PMSM with asymmetric parameters during adjacent double-phase open-circuit fault. Experiments have confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed methods.
