Abstract

Flow structure and influence factors of natural and ventilated cavitation around a cavitator were experimentally studied by applying high speed visualization and strain-electronic measuring technology. The results show that there are five phases of incipient cavitation, band cavitation, grouping cavitation, translucency supercavitation and transparent in cavitating flow regimes. Cavitation Numbers is one of the main influence factors of natural cavitation, and ventilation quantity is one of the main influence factors of ventilated cavitation. Ventilation can promote cavitation process around the cavitator.
