Abstract

In order to understand the mechanism of increasing the initial velocity and decreasing the ballistics temperature coefficient of deterred propellant charge, the burning properties of the original propellant, unitary deterred propellant, mixed charge and charge with different deterring layer thicknesses were investigated by using the experimental method of the closed bomb. The change regulation of p-t curves and L-B curves of the above charges were analyzed. The affecting mechanism of deterred propellant charge was discussed. These are very important to designing the charge structure and establishing the interior ballistics model of deterred propellant charge.
