Abstract

Ceramics and their composites are widely used in various engineering fields. The emergence of additive manufacturing (AM) technologies provides a new approach to the fabrication of ceramics and their composite products. Firstly, this chapter systematically reviews various AM technologies developed in recent years. Secondly, the AM case studies of typical engineering ceramics, including SiC ceramic and Si3N4 ceramic, and their composites, were discussed. At last, application perspectives for the additively manufactured ceramics and their composites were proposed and forecasted. This chapter aims to provide a fundamental understanding and helpful guidance for the AM of ceramics and their composites.
