Abstract
Polystyrene/polyvinylidene fluoride electrospun fibers(SF)were prepared via electrospinning technology. Then carboxylated cyclodextrin(c-CD)was bonded covalently to the surface of SF with the aid of polydopamine(PDA)coating to fabricate the functionalized c-CD/PDA@SF composite fibrous membrane. The structure and morphology of the fibrous membranes were characterized and their adsorption performance were investigated. The results show that the diameter and surface roughness of c-CD/PDA@SF composite fiber are increased after the modification of PDA and c-CD. Their adsorption capacity of methylene blue is enhanced, and the adsorption process conforms to the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. Their maximum removal of methylene blue reaches 96% when the pH value of the solution is 9.0. With the increase of the number of cycles, the adsorption capacity of the composite fibrous membranes decreases, but their removal rate of methylene blue could still reach above 80%.
