Abstract
Boiler modular model library is developed to simulate the boiler of fossil power plants. Mathematical model is based on first-principle formulation using mass, energy and momentum conservation equations. The major objectives of the development program are: (a) to apply the standard model to simulate different power plants; (b) to apply the modules in graphical modeling builder; (c) to shorten the period of developing models; and (d) to decrease the error rate. The mathematical models of some main components are described. Semi-implicit numerical method is investigated with the objective of improving the stability of numerical calculation. These models, together with the graphical model builder, have been applied to simulate a boiler of a 300 MW fossil power plant to assess the ability of the model and the numerical method. The improvements about numerical stability have been illustrated by the above numerical experiment. Simulating results show that the model and the solution method are correct and valid.
